We try to take care of all the things the guys need bit at times it gets a bit frustrating. For course service we started buying the elastic band headlights that use AAA batteries.
I had 4, numbered and hanging on the key board for use. I also was using rechargable batteries on them. When they would disappear I’d replace them. When the nice Petzel ones didn’t make it back I started to downgrade the quality. When I came back from vacation and none were there I decided we just couldn’t continue with the program.
It’s a shame. One of our 20 Basics, that we use to help manage the Resort, is “I take ownership”. Obviously we have a bit more work to do on that one.
Still, not to give up entirely. We’ll provide batteries for anyone who buys there own light (AAA). And to help with that, we came up with this inexpensive way to mount it on a ball cap.
You just cut a small slit about 3/4 of an inch from the side edge, and slip a piece of doublesided Velcro through. You use this to secure the small flashlight. I’m sure you’ve seen these small lights at auto parts and home improvement stores for about $4 or so.

Our Toro dealer has really done great on their packaging of parts. In the past I would get tons of brown paper to unfold, wrap, and recycle. Now, they have bought a machine that takes THEIR used cardboard and perforates it to use as packaging. The parts come in protected, they get rid of their used boxes, and it’s easier for me to recycle it. I just put it in our cardboard bin. I called them up on it just to let them know their efforts were noticed although even if they weren’t (by me) I’m sure their bottom line would. When a good idea comes around there are very few downsides

We bought this sprayer off the JD/Lesco truck about 6 weeks ago. The salesman told is they were having a slight problem with the tanks leaking if the rubber pads on the bottom were overtightened. It lasted a day. That didn’t bother me so much. Waiting 5 weeks and 6 days for them to take care of it has.
It used to be that Lesco sprayers set the standard for quality. They may again but for the opposite.
Back from 3 weeks in India and we are just beginning to overseed. Right now we’re wondering where the spreader truck is.
He just showed up.
