With the diverse range of wheels and tires in golf maintenance it’s difficult to get the bead to seat.. This is a low dough way to make a bead seater. Take your air tank.. Ours was 10 years old.
Go to your local home improvement store or plumber supply and get a 12″ piece of 1.5 inch galvanized pipe, threaded both ends, and a 1.5 inch ball valve.
Outline a circle on the tank, a little below center on one side of the tank. I didn’t have a hole saw handy so I drilled multiple small holes. |

Take your galvanized pipe, cut of 3 inches. That you will weld into the opening you just made. Thread your ball valve onto it. With the leftover piece, partially flatten the unthreaded end so it’s a bit flatter. Thread that into the other end of the ball valve. That’s it, now you just need to practice a bit.
Biggest part its learning how to prop up the tire to get the air into it quick.
Here’s a little video on it.. |

Thats a pretty nice tool Eric.
I Like.
Thanks Barry. I’ve seen these advertised for $300+. I’ve been finding that getting some of the new turf wheel/tire combinations to seat is almost impossible. We only need to use this a few times a year. I thought it might be a bit cumbersome to use with the addition but it isn’t.
I’m guessing it’s lighter than it looks or else you are just making it look easy!
I have real trouble with 3250 tires and something like this would make life a lot easier.
P.S. Love the site. Keep up the good work.
