Shout out to TruTurf & GolfTECHS.net

We’d just gotten a used TruTurf roller and I was on the GolfTECHS forum asking the guys about light kits. Apparently  our model was a bit outdated and the kit cost a small fortune. I suppose the biggest thing that came up was why was a light kit even an option. In Florida we start at 5AM and I’m not sure we have any equipment other than a small rotary mower that doesn’t have lights. In winter we’ll work 2 hours before sunrise.

The long and short of it was 2 of us on the site received light kits for our rollers. It was hard for me to believe.  I was thrilled someone from the factory was even interested enough to address out questions on the Bulletin Board. I received an email from Barry Abbott at the factory saying all the components for lights on our roller were on the way. WooHoo.. Far as I can tell, all the newer rollers have engines that will support lights, ours was just a bit early for that update and that was why adding lights was so expensive..  20 years in the business and it takes a bit to surprise me but this completely did..

Here’s a pic of the LED lights after getting the wiring done. And here’s it rolling after aerification. The roller had worked great, we put about 50 hours a month on it..
